Why Blank Pages?
A couple reasons…
The first is my recovery from anorexia. Living with an eating disorder, every day was filled with a lists of must dos, shoulds, needs, and nevers, that I felt a crushing anxiety to tick all the boxes before getting out of bed in the morning.
Recovery allowed me to erase some of these rules, rituals, and routines, making more space in my head, and ultimately, my life. The more I recovered, the more my days began to feel like blank pages.
The second is how the covid-19 pandemic has changed our daily existence. With social isolation in effect, many of us are working from home, or not at all. The schedule, routine, and list of to-dos are now gone. My days have essentially become a series of blank pages.
This blog is a living document of these days of blank page living, as I learn how to embrace the space with creativity, passion, and a bit of humour.
How I Fill These Pages
Play
Moving in a way that honours and celebrate what your body can do. This is not your typical fitspo blog. This is my story that continues being written about my relationship with exercise and movement as it continues to evolve.
Connect
We all have a story. Mine is recovery. This blog documents how my story is evolving. I reflect back on where I’ve been to help me appreciate where I am going. I write about recovery in hopes that it fosters a sense of connection, and encourages you to share your own story, whatever it may be. We are stronger when we bring our shadows into the light.
Nourish
Feed your body, your mind, your soul, and your spirit. Nothing good comes of deprivation. While he recipes I share here are largely plant-based, all foods are good foods. Some might be better for the body, but others are better for the soul.
